Testing of Test Specifications
In this chapter, the document introduces the use of the Test Client to validate reference files associated with Test Specifications. The Test Client plays a crucial role in ensuring that the imported reference data conforms to the required structure and content, as defined by the Quality Gate Checks and Test Specification types.
By running the tests, the Test Client helps verify that the configuration files are error-free and align with the predefined requirements. This ensures that any issues are identified early, thereby maintaining the integrity of the Quality Gate Checks and supporting effective troubleshooting.

There are three different modes (Basic, Expert and JSON) available depending on the personal liking and skill level of the user. All tree modes provide the same logic of providing mandatory Test Parameters before executing the Quality Gate check and receiving a Test Result which is displayed in the user interface. The difference in between the modes is the way how the input parameters are provided.
In all modes, the initial screen displays all available Test Parameters for the currently selected type of Quality Gate Check. Please consult Part Traceability’s API documentation for mandatory and optional Test Parameters. |
