Introduction
This document describes the Nexeed Industrial Application System module Packaging Control (PACO), which is offering flexible options for configuring/customizing, executing and securing an individual packaging process. For this purpose, PACO provides functionalities for controlling, processing and managing packaging units.
Usually, PACO is used at the end of each production line as a station in various forms. Possible configurations correspond either to a manual packaging workstation using the client application of PACO or to an automated or semi-automated packaging machines connected via the Nexeed Direct Data Link module. For this purpose, the module provides all the necessary functions to produce all types of packaging units for subsequent processes or the final delivery.
The main features and benefits of Packaging Control are:

Securing the B2B and B2C packaging process so that the correct packaging material, for the right products in the requested quantity, completeness and quality is packaged for the customer

Flexible, quick and easy expansion or customization of the packaging process to meet individual customer requirements for their mandatory contracts regarding customer packaging and delivery

Guiding the packaging operators (shopfloor workers) through the packaging process and support them through hardware connectivity capabilities (e.g. scanning barcodes or data matrix codes, validating the packaging units weight, etc.)

Providing tools and integrations for managing and printing of labels for the packaged goods and packaging units with dynamic content (e.g. quantities, materials, codes, etc.) acquired through the process

Capture of all data generated during the packaging process for traceability purposes, provision of this data and, if necessary, transfer to third-party systems

Seamless integration capabilities with other Nexeed IAS modules (e.g. Part Traceability for product traceability validation and documentation during packaging, etc.) to make the packaging process even more flexible and secure
