Introduction to the Packaging Control module
The module Packaging Control is a product that provides functions for the management, processing and tracking of packaging units. It is fully integrated into the IAS infrastructure and offers flexible options for designing and safeguarding an individual packaging process.
Main Function

Safeguarding of the packing process via persistent data storage during each operation (no local data management)

Connection to IAS-QualityData (Traceability and QualityGate) to ensure the quality, integrity, uniqueness and homogeneity of products in a packing unit

Integration into the BBM-RM packing process of Bosch and ability to connect (packaging instructions, HU creation, feedback) to SAP ERP via IAS-ERPConnectivity

Flexible printing system for customizing packaging-specific labels including Bosch-OMS connection via Bosch Printer Management

Function-based configuration with IAS-OSS per packing station for an individual packing process

Product-specific configuration expansion via packaging type data with DAT files or connection of IAS-SetupControl

Integration of visual inspection for each product during the packing process

Integration of complete packaging of accessories via the connection of a packaging BOM from IAS-ProductSetupManagement

Generation of EPCIS event messages (aggregation and transaction) from the packing process and dispatch via IAS-ERPConnectivity

Validation of the correct packaging materials when setting up via the packaging instructions

User-guided cancellation process for packing units, for example in the case of recall actions
