  • Adding a ctrlX Core device

Adding a ctrlX Core device

You can add a ctrlX Core device as follows:

  1. Click Select in the ctrlX Core tile in the Add Device view.

  2. Fill in the fields that are identified with an asterisk () as required fields at a minimum and confirm the inputs with *Next.

    • Name : Assign a unique name to the device so that it can be found again later.

    • Description : Store a more detailed description of the device.

    • Communication Identifier : The ID of the device used to connect to the Device Portal. The ID can be found in the operating instructions of the device.

  3. In the second step, the possession of the device must be confirmed. To this end, a defined process must be initiated in the web interface of the device. To do this, click Start claiming process.

    A progress bar with a time indication appears. The confirmation must be completed within the specified time.

    If time runs out before the confirmation process is completed, the timer and this process need to be restarted.

    If the device is confirmed, the view automatically jumps to step 3. This step shows which software is being installed on the device.

  4. Click Provision Device to install the software.

    After installation, a success message appears.

  5. Click OK in the message.

A ctrlX Core device has been added to the Device Portal. The device can now be managed in the Device Overview view.
