Adding diagnostic functionality to devices

The Device Portal offers the option of instructing the devices to upload diagnostic data to the Artifact Repository. This diagnostic data is then displayed to the Device Portal user via the UI. You can then download it here for further analysis purposes.

Any file formats and content can be part of the diagnostic data. The device only needs to be able to compile the relevant diagnostic information and transfer it to the Device Portal.

Prerequisites

There are three requirements for using the diagnostic data upload function:

  • A correctly set up and accessible Artifact Repository

  • A device type with the command UPLOAD_DIAGNOSTIC_DATA

  • Appropriate additional user authorizations: DP_CAN_RETRIEVE_DIAGNOSTIC_DATA
