Rolling out a distribution
Distributions are created to use several commands (software artifacts and custom commands) in a specified sequence for a roll-out.
|
Before you can roll out a distribution, you need to create and configure one. See Distribution Overview for information on how to create distributions, add commands, and manage distribution settings. |
-
To roll out a distribution, select one or more devices with the same device type in the Device Overview and click on the action button.
The action overview of the devices opens.
-
Click Roll-out Distribution to open the Roll-out Distribution Wizard.
-
In the wizard, select the desired distribution for the roll-out and click Next. Note that only distributions with at least one command can be selected.
-
In the Configure Roll-out section, create a description of the roll-out and specify whether the roll-out should be started immediately or started manually later.
-
Click Next to open the Device Summary. This shows which devices have currently been selected for the roll-out.
-
Click Next to open the Artifact Summary. This displays which artifacts are in the selected roll-out.
Click Create Roll-out to create the roll-out and, depending on the setting, execute it either immediately or manually in the Activity Overview.
The roll-out is displayed in the Activity Overview with the specified description.
