Transport Movements

The transport movements of the current transport orders are displayed under Material flow > Transport movements.

Description of the Interaction Elements in Transport Movements

The following table describes the columns that are available for transport movements.

Column Description

ID

The identification under which a transport movement is stored in the database

If there are problems with a transport movement, the ID must be provided to Support.

Source system

Specifies the original IT system which generated the transport order (if available).

Transport order
number

Identification number from the source system

It should be possible to clearly identify the order in the source system using the TO ID.

Owner

Associate who created the transport order

Creation time

Creation time (date, time) of the transport order

Deadline

Latest point in time (date, time) by which the transport movement must be completed

Required pickup time

Latest point in time (date, time) by which the transport movement must be collected

Actual pickup time

Actual point in time (date, time) at which the transport movement was collected

Actual delivery time

Actual point in time (date, time) at which the transport movement was delivered

Coverage area

A coverage area consists of a vehicle type or several assigned vehicle types as well as a route or several routes that can be driven in the corresponding coverage area.

Source hall

Source hall of the transport movement

Source station

Source station of the transport movement

Target hall

Target hall of the transport movement

Target station

Target station of the transport movement

Material number

ID of the material

Material description

Description of the material.

Quantity

Quantity of material

Unit load type

Name of the load unit type

Number of load units

Number of load units used for the transport order

Kanban ID of the transport order

Ready For Planning

Yes : The transport order contains all the information required for planning.

No : The transport order does not contain all the information required for planning.

Priority order

The transport order must be delivered with priority (not currently taken into account).

Status

Current status of the transport order

The Status column contains the Result column if the transport movement is complete.

Ready For Planning

For transport movements scheduled by Transport Management (e.g. milk run): The product is ready for transport at the source location, but has not yet been scheduled for a tour.

For transport movements not scheduled by Transport Management bracket (e.g. truck transport): The product is either ready for transport or already in transit.

Pending

The product is not yet ready at the source location. The transport movement cannot be scheduled yet.

Planned

The product is ready for transport at the source location and has been scheduled for a tour. Either the tour has not started yet, or the source location of the product was not yet reached on the tour.

In transit

The product has been loaded onto a transport vehicle and is en route to the target location.

Finished

The transport movement is complete.

Result

Result of the transport movement

Only set when the Completed status has been reached.

The Result column is contained in the Status column.

Delivered

The transport movement has been completed successfully.

Failed

The transport movement has been canceled.

Canceled

The transport movement could not be completed successfully.

Planned by

Planning service that scheduled the transport movement

Production
order number

Information about the production order and the transport order generated from it.

Transport Movements submenu

Sum of all transport movements available for the selected filters in the system. The information can be found in the upper left-hand area of the submenu.

Setting Up Table Columns for Transport Movements

The columns of the transport movements table can be shown and hidden individually.

  1. Open menu Material flow > Transport orders.

  2. In the header, use watch-on to open the Select columns dialog box.

    The column names displayed in the table are listed in the Available columns area. The column titles displayed in the table are listed in the Selected columns area.

  3. Setting Up the Transport Movements Display:

    • forward-right-double : Move all column titles to the Selected columns pane.

    • back-left-double : Move all column titles to the Available columns pane.

    • Select all : Activate the check boxes of all column titles in the Selected columns pane or in the Available columns pane.

    • Deselect all : Clear the check boxes of all column titles in the Selected columns pane or in the Available columns pane.

    • forward-right : Move checked column titles to the Selected columns pane.

    • back-left : Move checked column titles to the Available columns pane.

      The horizontal arrangement of the columns in the Selected columns pane can be sorted by dragging and dropping. The column title at the top appears in the table on the left.

  4. Apply the changes with Save.

The table of transport movements is displayed with the required columns.

Organizing the View of the Transport Movements Table

The table can be sorted by desired columns and the table columns can be moved horizontally.

Changes are not saved.

  1. Open the Material flow > Transport movements menu.

  2. To move the table columns, use the mouse to move the required column title horizontally.

    The table column appears in the desired position.

  3. To adjust the width of a table column, place the mouse over the column boundary between the column titles.

    The mouse pointer appears as a double arrow.

  4. Move the column boundary by holding down the left mouse button.

    The width of the desired column is adjusted.

  5. To sort the table contents by a column, click the desired column title.

    An up arrow indicates that the table is being sorted by ascending alphabetical order or ascending numbering.

    An down arrow indicates that the table is being sorted by descending alphabetical order or descending numbering.

The table layout is optimized for the respective view.

Filtering the Contents of the Transport Movements Table

The contents of the table can be filtered by column.

  1. Call up the Material flow > Transport movements menu.

  2. In the header, click filter Filter to open the Filter dialog window.

  3. In the Select filter drop-down list, select the required column title to which the filter is to apply.

    Specific text boxes for filter details appear below the drop-down list.

  4. In the Filter Details text boxes, type the text that you want to filter by.

  5. Activate the filter with Apply.

  6. To also display archived data, enable the Archived data checkbox in the header.

Only the transport movements that contain the filtered texts appear in the table. The filter criteria appear below the header.

Use close to remove the individual filter criteria below the header. To stop using filters, click Reset filters to remove all filter criteria.

Exporting the Contents of the Transport Movements table

The filtered contents of the table can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet using the *.csv file format.

  1. Call up the Material flow > Transport movements menu.

  2. Filter the table by the desired content.

  3. In the header, click document-xls to open the file manager.

  4. Save or open the file in the desired location.

  5. Press OK to export filtered contents of the table.

All table contents are exported in the *.csv file format and can be opened from the selected file manager folder.

Searching for a Transport Movement ID

A transport movement can be searched for by its identification number (ID) under which it is stored in the database.

The Search by ID input field is only visible for the role that is Transport Management Administrator role.

Prerequisite

Role Transport Management Administrator

Procedure

  1. Open menu Material flow > Transport orders.

  2. In the header, enter the desired ID in the text field Search by ID and click search to search.

The transport movement with the required ID appears in the table.

Updating the Transport Movements Table

When changing transport orders, you can manually reload the table view. Alternatively, automatic updating can be enabled.

  1. Open menu Material flow > Transport orders.

  2. To enable automatic table updating, click on refresh-cloud in the header.

    Any changes that affect the table are automatically updated and displayed.

  3. To reload the table view, click refresh in the header.

    The table is reloaded and the most recent changes are displayed.

The table view is current and contains all changes to the transport movements.

Manually Changing the Status of Transport Movements

Transport movements can be completed with a defined result.

Prerequisite

Role Transport Management Administrator or Transport Management Logistik Planer

With the role Transport Management Logistik Planer the status of the transport movements can only be set to Completed (delivered) or Plannable.

Procedure

  1. Open the Material flow > Transport movements menu.

  2. To manually change the status of a transport movement, use mdm_edit_icon to open the Change status of transport movements dialog window in the line containing the required transport movement.

    • Select the required status.

    • Apply the selection using Save.

      The status of the transport movement has changed and is displayed in the table.

      In the line containing the transport movement, box-delivery can be used to set the status to Completed (delivered).

  3. To change the status of multiple transport movements manually, activate the checkboxes of the required transport movements.

  4. In the header, use mdm_edit_icon to open the Change status of transport movements dialog window.

    In the header, the status of the selected transport movements can be set to Completed (delivered) using box-delivery.

    • Select the required status.

    • Apply the selection using Save.

The status of the transport movements has changed and is displayed in the table.

  • To update the table of transport movements, proceed with Updating the Transport Movements Table.

Defining the Deadline for Transport Movements

The date and time of the deadline for transport movements can be defined.

Prerequisite

Role Transport Management Administrator or Transport Management Logistik Planer

Procedure

  1. Open the Material flow > Transport movements menu.

  2. To change the target date of a transport movement, open the calendar in the Target date column of the desired transport movement using calendar.

    Or:

  3. To change the target date of several transport movements, enable the checkboxes of the desired transport movements.

  4. Open the calendar in the header using calendar.

  5. Select the date and time.

  6. Apply the settings using Save.

The date and time for the deadline for the transport movement are adjusted and appear in the list.

  • To update the table of transport movements, proceed with Updating the Transport Movements Table.
