Main functions
Below are the main functions available in Rework Control.
Searching and modifying parts
The user has the flexibility to choose from a variety of methods to input a part identifier. These methods include manual input, RFID scanner, data-matrix-code scanner, and others. Additionally, the system supports the input of multiple part identifiers simultaneously.
Upon entering the part(s) identifier, the system retrieves and displays detailed information about that particular part. This information is obtained by querying other Nexeed modules such as Line Control, Part Traceability, Setup Control, and Block Management.
The part’s traceability data, which includes quality measurements, is presented in the form of a comprehensive report. This report provides valuable insights into the history and characteristics of the part.
Furthermore, the system displays the part’s timer and counter information. This data indicates the number of times a part can be processed before generating a warning and blocking the part. Users have the capability to modify these timer and counter settings as needed.
In addition, the system presents the block information associated with the part. This information specifies which stations have the ability to modify the part and which stations are restricted from making modifications. Users have the authority to modify the block settings, providing flexibility in managing part modifications across various stations.
Part coding
Once the part’s information has been analyzed, the user has the ability to associate a Customer-defined process with the part using the module. This process determines the subsequent processing step for the part. The user can choose the process to be assigned in one of two ways.
The first option is to select a process from a list of available Customer-defined target processes. This selection can be made using the Nexeed desktop client, which utilizes WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) technology. This method is commonly referred to as "free coding" since it provides the user with flexibility in choosing the desired process from the available options.
Alternatively, the user can assign a pre-configured process to the part. This pre-defined process is already configured within the system and can be directly assigned to the part.
The act of assigning a process to a part is referred to as "part coding." This step ensures that the part is appropriately associated with the designated process, facilitating a seamless flow through the subsequent processing stages.
Part scrapping
The module offers the capability to digitally designate part(s) as "scrapped," indicating their removal from the production and delivery cycle due to quality concerns aligned with the customer’s SOP. In cases where a "scrap station" is present on the production line, the part is coded to a corresponding process on this station.
Furthermore, information regarding these scrapped parts is transmitted to the Nexeed Part Traceability module (NPT), ensuring that they are also digitally marked as scrapped within NPT. Once a part is marked as scrapped, it can no longer undergo further processing within the module.
This streamlined process allows for efficient identification and tracking of scrapped parts, ensuring their proper handling and preventing their inclusion in subsequent production or delivery activities.
Sending directdatalink telegrams
In situations where a part cannot be processed using the base functionality of the module due to various reasons, such as missing configuration of other Nexeed modules or interfaces, alternative data processing can be carried out through the Nexeed Direct Data Link (DDL) module. This allows for seamless data handling and processing.
To facilitate this, the module provides user-defined templates of DDL telegrams (messages) that can be utilized. These templates are populated with dynamic information at runtime by the module’s client, and subsequently sent to the Nexeed Direct Data Link module for further processing.
These operations can be performed for a single part, a part group (where a parent part contains multiple children parts), or a list of independent parts, also known as bulk processing.
In addition to the standard functions mentioned above, the module also offers customer-specific functions. These functions can be enabled by the Customer if necessary. Detailed descriptions of these customer-specific functions can be found in the user manual of the module.
By providing this flexibility and customizable functionality, the module empowers the user to handle diverse scenarios and cater to specific customer requirements, ensuring a comprehensive and tailored operational experience.
