Troubleshooting
Orders in wrong sequence
In OrderManagement, incorrect deliveries or a lack of material happen due to an incorrect order sequence in order management. The material requisition calculation always takes into account only the orders in the calculation horizon. If this calculation horizon is set to a time of 90 minutes, for instance, the material requisition is calculated in simplified form based on the following formula:
-
Maximum processing time of the order = number of boards to be produced * cycle time
-
Remaining processing time for the next order = calculation horizon (e.g. 90 min) – maximum processing time of the order
If the remaining processing time returns a positive value, the next order is included in the calculation horizon and is taken into consideration for the supply of material. For this reason, the order sequence is of huge importance.
Sample Scenario
In order management for line 1, two orders in the queue are in the following sequence:
-
Order: 3103969, type: 1038406986_SU_005, Number of boards: 288, cycle time: 23 (Production time approx. 110 min. → i.e. completely in the calculation period)
-
Order: 3103971, Type: 1038405798_SU_009, Number of boards: 336, cycle time: 28 (production time approx. 156 min. → i.e. not in the calculation period at all)
Therefore, SRS calculates the material requisition for order 1. The missing material is therefore ordered and delivered to the line 90 minutes (calculation period) prior to production.
However, at around 6:32 order 2 is started, i.e. order 1 was skipped. Activation of the second order results in the following situation:
-
Order: 3103971, Type: 1038405798_SU_009, Number of boards: 336, cycle time: 28 (production time approx. 156 min. → i.e. completely within the calculation period)
-
Order: 3103969, type: 1038406986_SU_005, Number of boards: 288, cycle time: 23 (Production time approx. 110 min. → i.e. not in the calculation period at all)
The consequence of this is that the material for the previous order 2 (3103971) is ordered instantaneously, because it suddenly falls completely within the calculation horizon.
If the order sequence changes, this must be taken into account in the order management, and the order list must be adapted accordingly "in good time". Otherwise there will be a lack of material on the line.
If an order is not produced, delete it immediately. |
Orders absent during the calculation period are not displayed correctly in SRS
In the client, orders within the preview time are highlighted separately. using only the (general) preview time configured for that specific line. Material-specific preview times that deviate from the general preview time are not taken into account.
Example
There is an order in the order management system for line 1 and the general preview time for the line is set to 90 minutes:
-
Order: 3103969, type: 1038406986_SU_005, Number of boards: 288, cycle time: 23 (production time approx. 110 min.)
-
One of the materials used in this order has a material-specific preview time of 120 minutes.
-
A log entry is created using the material calculation that does not contain sufficient orders for the preview time.
