Readers

Overview: Readers

Readers are created and edited under Master data management > Readers. Readers identify supermarkets, tracks, load units and materials. Readers are available for mobile operation, e.g. attached to the associate’s wrist with a wristband, stationary at a fixed position, or above the supermarket on the ceiling, to monitor a specific area.

Filtering Readers

Prerequisite

Role Stock Management Administrator or Stock Management Planer

Procedure

  1. Select Master data management > Readers menu.

  2. In the header, click filter Filter to open the Filter dialog window.

  3. To specify a filter, click the required entry in the Filter list.

  4. Either select the filter criterion in the drop-down list or enter it in the text box in full.

  5. If necessary, specify additional filters.

  6. If necessary, click delete to remove the filter criterion.

  7. Click Apply to accept the selected filter criteria.

The filter criteria have been accepted and are displayed above the list of readers. Only entries with the selected filter criteria are displayed in the list of readers.

The filter criteria shown above the list of readers can be removed with close.

Creating or Editing a Reader

Prerequisite

Role Stock Management Administrator or Stock Management Logistik Planer

Procedure

  1. Select Master data management > Readers menu.

  2. In the header, click add_border to add a new reader.
    Or:
    In the row containing the reader, click mdm_edit_icon to open the reader for editing.

  3. Enter or change information:

    • Name
      Name of the reader

    • Device ID
      Identification of the reader

The reader can only communicate with the physical supermarket if the device ID is entered.

  • Description

  • Type
    Mobile reader : Readers for mobile operation, e.g. fixed to a wristband on the wrist
    Stationary reader : Readers for stationary operation, e.g. installed at a position in the supermarket
    Reader (ceiling) : Readers for the overview of an area, e.g. on the ceiling of the supermarket

  • Use
    Not specified : The reader can be used for booking in and booking out.
    Entrance : The reader is used for booking into the supermarket.
    Exit : The reader is used for booking out of the supermarket.

  • Type
    For example, model or manufacturer

  • Assigned vehicle
    Cannot be edited.

  • Assigned supermarkets add_black
    To assign a compatible supermarket, click add_black and select a compatible supermarket from the drop-down list.

    Compatible supermarkets are defined in the dialog window under the Compatible supermarkets tab.

    1. Select compatible supermarkets:

  • forward-right-double : Move all supermarkets to the Compatible supermarkets area.

  • back-left-double : Move all supermarkets to the Incompatible supermarkets area.

  • Select all : Select all supermarkets in the Incompatible supermarkets or Compatible supermarkets area.

  • Delete selection : Remove the selection of all supermarkets in the Incompatible supermarkets or Compatible supermarkets area.

  • forward-right : Move selected supermarkets to the Compatible supermarkets area.

  • back-left : Move selected supermarkets to the Incompatible supermarkets area.

    1. Click Save to create or save changes to a reader.

The new or edited reader appears in the Master data management > Readers menu.

Deleting a Reader

Prerequisite

Role Stock Management Administrator or Stock Management Logistik Planer

Procedure

  1. Select Master data management > Readers menu.

  2. Delete reader:

    • To delete a reader, click delete in the row containing the reader.

    • To delete multiple readers, activate the checkboxes of the readers and click delete in the header.

    • To delete all the readers displayed, activate the checkbox in the title bar of the list and click delete in the header.

  3. To delete the reader or readers permanently, confirm this in the dialog window with Delete.

The reader or readers are deleted and removed from the list of readers.
