Comparison tab

The Comparison tab is used to compare datasets. Different change statuses of the same dataset as well as the latest versions of different datasets can be added to the comparison.

Prerequisites

Dataset Editor or Setup Specs Admin role
The user is logged on to the Web Portal.

Procedure

Open the Compare tab in the Product Setup > Setup Parameters menu.

Display differences in datasets

Prerequisites

Production area, product family, product and variant(s) have been created. Product tab
Dataset structure, structure element and parameters have been created. Configurator tab
Dataset has been added to the variant.

Procedure

Click in the Datasets search box in the Compare tab.
In the Production Area drop-down list, select a production area by activating the checkbox and click .
Select a product family in the Product Family drop-down list by activating the checkbox and click .
Select a product in the Product drop-down list by activating the checkbox and click .
Select a variant in the Variant drop-down list by activating the checkbox and click .
Select a dataset type in the Dataset Type drop-down list by activating the checkbox and click .
Select a dataset in the Dataset drop-down list by activating the checkbox and click .
Select multiple versions in the Version drop-down list by activating the checkboxes.

Using multiple selection, you can also select any datasets including versions across multiple product families, products and variants.

The selected datasets with parameter details are displayed. Rows highlighted in yellow indicate that there is at least one change across all selected versions for the parameter.

Click the watch-on Show Differences filter to display only the rows that contain a difference in the datasets.

Deselect dataset

Prerequisites

Production area, product family, product and variant(s) have been created. Product tab
Dataset structure, structure element and parameters have been created. Configurator tab
Dataset has been added to the variant.
Differences in datasets are displayed.

Procedure

Deactivate the checkbox in the row of the dataset in the Selection view.

The dataset is deselected and no longer appears in the comparison list.

Remove dataset from comparison list

Prerequisites

Production area, product family, product and variant(s) have been created. Product tab
Dataset structure, structure element and parameters have been created. Configurator tab
Dataset has been added to the variant.
Differences in datasets are displayed.

Procedure

Click in the row of the dataset in the Selection view.

The dataset no longer appears in the comparison list.
