System architecture and interfaces
Nexeed IAS is divided into Operating Base (Foundation) and Functional software modules. The Operating Base modules facilitate the central management of all the data and functionalities required by the Functional modules. Examples of Operating Base modules are Web Portal, MACMA, Master Data Management, and Information Router. Functional modules support specific use cases in a manufacturing environment. Examples of Functional modules are Process and Quality, Order Management, and Shiftbook.
Each module has their own infrastructure requirements, which can be found in the individual module operations manuals. From a system perspective, we use Rabbit MQ as the main messaging infrastructure to enable asynchronous communication within the different modules. RabbitMQ is not delivered as part of Nexeed IAS, but BCI is providing an infrastructure chart with a preconfigured RabbitMq.
In the diagram below, an example of the architecture of Nexeed IAS is shown. It includes some examples of the infrastructure components, the Operating Base (Foundation) modules, and the Functional modules. Additionally, an example of how each component interacts with each other is shown. For further details, please refer to the module operation manuals.
