Rules management

The Efficiency analysis > Rules management menu is used to manage rules.

  • To define a new rule for a device or for a device type that creates an event in addition to machine messages sent by the machine itself

  • To edit, copy and delete rules

  • To activate/deactivate rules

  • To display the rule history

Either Rules Light or Rules Extended can be installed. Rules Extended has a greater range of functions than Rules Light :

search Facility Search

Search for or select facility/facilities.

Number of rules created

Code, title search

Search in the Code and Title columns of the overview

tune View

Show or hide columns in the overview.

filter Filter

Filter the overview by selecting Status , Severity , Context and Part Type in the dialog window.

filter-success

Save the current filter settings for the logged-in user.

Create or Configure a Rule

Column title

Sort the overview by column Status , Severity , Title, Context, Code or Description.

Create or Configure a Rule

Change the status of a rule, view the history of a rule or copy a rule

ticket

Create a deviation notification with the rule code.

If the rule is based on a device, you can switch to Condition Monitoring

or to

Deviation Processor

is selected, a drop-down list opens. The drop-down list can contain even more options, depending on which Nexeed‑modules are installed.

Open the device in the

Condition Monitoring

Menu

and display the Live tab in the detailed view.

Menu

and display the Measured Values tab in the detailed view.

Open the device in the Condition Monitoring

Menu

and display the Events tab in the detailed view.

Change the status of a rule, view the history of a rule or copy a rule

Prerequisite

Rules Management Expert or Rules Management Administrator role

Procedure

  1. Call up the Efficiency analysis > Rules management menu.

  2. Open the context menu with settings-editor.

    ppm_sort_hide_context_menu

    The following options are available: * Change status

    + In the Change status dialog window, select Active , Inactive or In Approval according to the current status, enter a description and confirm with Save.

    • View history

      The history of the rule is displayed.

    • Copy rule

      The Add rule dialog window is displayed with the pre-populated values of the current rule.

      Adjust values and save as a new rule: Create or Configure a Rule

    • Clear

      The Delete rule dialog window is displayed.

      Remove the rule with Delete.
