Configure Tool Management
In order to monitor and manage tools and components in Tool Management , the following must be completed in the Tool Management > Tool Administration menu:

Add tool types and component types.

Add tools and components.

Release tools and components.
Tool Management is configured. Tools and components can be monitored and managed in the Tool Management > Tool Information menu along with their counters. The following settings can be made to configure Tool Management in details.

To edit tool types and component types, continue with Configuring Type.
If necessary, see Create a counter template for the type.
If necessary, see Assign a property to a type or a group.
If necessary, see Create position for the type.

To edit tools and components, continue with Configure the tool or component.
If necessary, see Configuring Limits for Tool or Component Counters.
If necessary, refer to Enter or select the value of a property in the tool or component.

To connect tools and components in the hierarchy, continue with Attaching and Releasing Tools and Components in the Hierarchy.

To divide tool types and component types into groups, continue with Tool Administration: Groups.

To configure properties, continue with Configuration: Properties.

To configure notifications, continue with Configuration: Notifications.
