Equipment model

Describes logical groupings of assets used for manufacturing, and provides definitions for:

  • Plants: A Plant is a production facility with a complex and separate organizational structure, it is a logical grouping of a manufacturing enterprise.

  • Work Center: A Work Center is a grouping of one or more Work Units or smaller Work Centers that are logically or geographically linked. Line and Pool are subclasses of Work Centers.

  • Pool: A Pool is a grouping of several parallel Work Centers or Work Units running the same Process. A Pool is a subclass of a Work Center.

  • Line: Line: A Line is a collection of one or more equipments that work together to perform a defined sequence of production processes to complete a product that can be a final product or a semi-finished product.

  • Work Unit: A Work Unit is a unit of equipment that carries out one or more Operations.

Physical asset model

Describes physical assets, is a physical object uniquely identified and tracked for maintenance and/or financial purposes. Normally, physical assets are production machines, production tools, buildings and locations.

The physical asset model also describes important relationships between the main physical assets.
