KPIs in the Global Production Overview module

The key performance indicators in the Global Production Overview module are standardized. The following KPIs have been created and can be selected for the comparison of production units:

PC (Part Count)

Parts Counter

Shows the number of good parts produced during the selected time range.

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)

Overall Equipment Effectiveness

Shows the economic viability of a manufacturing area in order to identify and exploit potential for improvement.

The overall equipment effectiveness is given as a percentage. It is calculated from the ratio of good parts to the target overall equipment effectiveness. Planned breaks and downtimes are taken into account in the shift model.

U (Utilization or Actual Utilization)

Current Utilization Rate

Shows how intensively a production unit is being used.

The current utilization rate is given as a percentage. It is calculated from the ratio of good parts to the total number of parts. Breaks and downtime scheduled in the shift model are not taken into account.

U rel (Relative Utilization)

Relative Utilization

Shows how well production is running.

The relative utilization rate is given as a percentage. It is calculated from the ratio of good parts to the relative total number of parts. Breaks scheduled in the shift model are taken into account, but not planned downtime. The higher the value, the better the utilization. Excellent results are values above 82 %.

U abs (Absolute Utilization)

Absolute Utilization

Shows how well production is running over the entire time period of a given time span.

The absolute utilization rate is given as a percentage. It is based on the total time in a specified time period.

FPY (First Pass Yield)

First pass yield, goods rejected without refinishing

Shows the number of products that pass through a production unit without refinishing. The quality depends on the product complexity.

The first pass yield is given as a percentage. It is calculated from the ratio of the number of good parts without refinishing to the number of parts at the first station. If parts are processed from the warehouse, the first pass yield can be a value greater than 100 %.

FTY (First Time Yield)

Good parts output, goods rejected including refinishing

Shows the number of good parts in relation to the total number of parts that were produced. In contrast to FPY, refinished parts are taken into account.

The good parts output is given as a percentage. It is calculated from the ratio of the number of good parts to the number of parts at the first station. If parts are processed from the warehouse, the good parts output can be a value greater than 100 %.

FOR (Fall OFF Rate)

Fall Off Rate

Shows the number of incorrectly produced parts from a production unit. The lower the value, the better the production.

The fall off rate is given as a percentage. It is calculated from the ratio of faulty parts to the number of parts at the first station. If parts are processed from a warehouse, the fall off rate can be a value less than 0 %.

PR dir (Productivity)

Productivity

Shows the profitability of production processes.

Productivity is expressed in parts per person hour. It is calculated from the ratio of the number of parts to the number of man-hours.

POT (Planned Operation Time)

Planned Operation Time

Shows the operating time (from the shift model) minus planned breaks and planned downtime.

TargetCT (Target Cycle Time)

Target Cycle Time

Shows the throughput time of an order that must be achieved in order to fulfill the order, taking losses into account.
