Introduction
Shopfloor Management Essentials provides a wide range of features to manage the shopfloor (shifts, downtimes, etc.) and generate detailed reports (historical and live).
The following gives a short summary of it’s components and their primary functionalities:
Shopfloor Management base modules
The Shopfloor Management Base Modules form a necessary basis that is required by all modules originating from the Shopfloor Management (SM) Area of Use (AoU).
Config Bridge
Config Bridge is a place for AoU-wide and/or tenant-overlapping functionality that all other services in the SM AoU can benefit from.
The primary features of Config Bridge are:
-
Status overview about services within Shopfloor Management
-
Synchronization of MDM Data (e.g. facilities, station errors, processes)
-
API to get the connection string for a tenant (used by other services)
-
Managing connection string ↔ tenant mapping via Web UI
-
Exposing read API for AggData
-
Entry point for debugging (Diagnostics page, Background jobs)
-
Controls database updates for the Config Bridge DB and Shopfloor Management DB ("Formerly known as PdaMda DB")
Config Bridge uses a dedicated database (called "Config Bridge DB") to store tenant-spanning information.
Shift Book
Nexeed Shift Book (hereafter referred to as SB) provides the functionality to manage shifts, downtimes (planned/unplanned) and hourly quantity tracking . Shifts are productive but limited (e.g. 8h) parts of a working day. A downtime is a planned or unplanned interruption of the production. This document will provide the instructions for starting and operating the service.
KPI Reporting
KPI Reporting is a module for the analysis of production-relevant key performance indicators (KPI) that make the production transparent and are essential for the analysis of production efficiency. It also provides deep insight into manufacturing data such as part counts, downtimes, and cycle times. The analysis is always based on data accumulated in the past; live reporting is not provided.
The user analyses the KPIs and manufacturing data via graphical or tabular reports. The graphical reports are the preferred entry point. They provide a rich user experience which help the user explore the data with a high level of interactiveness.
Andon Live
Andon Live (hereafter referred to as AL) provides a visualization of line KPIs in real time on the shopfloor (usually with monitors mounted to the hall ceiling). AL enables configuration of different views (terminals) containing lines from the plant. This document will provide the instructions for starting and operating the service.
