CPM - Condition and process monitoring

Condition Monitoring is a module that enables process experts, production planners and shopfloor operators to monitor, analyze and improve machines in the manufacturing plant.
Condition monitoring comes with a rules Manager provides all functionalities so that the user can configure rules by himself in order to automatically analyze his data in Nexeed IAS and trigger deviaitions to automate actions eg ticket creation or notification.
With condition monitoring a preventiv maintenenace is enabled. With the integration of Data Analytics AI alogrithms are supporting the endusers to detect irregularities.

HTTP - Hypertext Transfer Protocol

The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application layer protocol in the Internet protocol suite model for distributed, collaborative, hypermedia information systems.

Ingress/Egress

Ingress is traffic that enters the boundary of a network. Egress is traffic that exits an entity or a network boundary.

Information Router

Nexeed Information Router is a service which allows machines to communicate with Nexeed IAS. A machine can be a device, control system or PLC.
A machine sends messages to a single endpoint provided by the Information Router. Subsequently, based on the configuration, the Information Router forwards the incoming messages to the relevant Nexeed IAS modules.

Kafka

Apache Kafka is an open-source distributed event streaming platform used by thousands of companies for high-performance data pipelines, streaming analytics, data integration, and mission-critical applications.

MDM - Master Data Management

Manufacturing Master and Planing Data main target is to provide a common source for all MES- / IAS-relevant master data. MDM is not meant to be a general purpose master data module which can be used on its own - even if this is technical possible. Only master data required by the MES services / IAS SCS will be maintained by MDM.
From business side this module addresses the efficiency in rollout and maintenance of the whole production system build up by the MES / IAS modules. Without a central spot, every module needs to be set up with the same data like device, process of shift information. Every time a new module will be added to the system, this information has to be entered again and again. Or when a new machine is put on the shopfloor, all the modules have to updated with same information.
MDM will take care of this and provides the common spot for maintaining this data.

Northbound/Southbound Protocol

A northbound interface is an application programming interface (API) or protocol that allows a lower-level network component to communicate with a higher-level or more central component, while — conversely — a southbound interface allows a higher-level component to send commands to lower-level network components. Northbound and southbound interfaces are most associated with software-defined networking (SDN), but can also be used in any system that uses a hub-and-spoke or controller-and-nodes architecture.

OpCon.Xml

OpCon XML is a standard for the exchange of data between production equipment and OpCon MES. The events specified in OpCon DirectDataLink are expressed as corresponding XML messages.

OPP - Open Production Protocol

The Open Production Protocol (OPP) is a unified standard for machine communication within Bosch Manufacturing and Logistics Platform (BMLP) and NEXEED Industrial Application System (NEXEED IAS) for internal and external market.
It dramatically reduces the configuration and integration effort of machines and enables a decoupling of machine communication and software solution development for manufacturing IT.
It unifies existing standards for machine communication within Bosch like OpConXml, AE-JSON, M2M@CC, etc. as well as external protocols like PPMP.
Please refer also to Open Production Protocol 0.9 specification and Gihub NexeedFoundation/OpenProductionProtocol.

PPM - Production Performance Manager

The Nexeed Production Performance Manager is a production information system providing live (near-real-time) productiondata for role- and context-dependent notifications/triggering of service processes based on user-definable rules.
It provides an overview of your production system status and allows you to react quickly to deviations from standardconditions, thus supporting continuous improvement.

PPMP - Production Performance Management Protocol

The Production Performance Management Protocol (PPMP) is a internally developed IT-Protocol for communication between devices.

Publish/subscribe

Publish/subscribe messaging, or pub/sub messaging, is a form of asynchronous service-to-service communication used in serverless and microservices architectures. In a pub/sub model, any message published to a topic is immediately received by all of the subscribers to the topic. Pub/sub messaging can be used to enable event-driven architectures, or to decouple applications in order to increase performance, reliability and scalability.

Regular expression

A regular expression (shortened as regex) is a sequence of characters that specifies a match pattern in text. Usually such patterns are used by string-searching algorithms for "find" or "find and replace" operations on strings, or for input validation.

Rexroth Tightening

The Rexroth Tightening protocol is a message protocol for communication between Bosch Rexroth Tightening devices and services.
Technically, the data is sent as a JSON payload via REST. Only http is supported. The communication is unidirectional and always goes from the device to a service. The recipient is the client provides a REST API.

SSL/TLS

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network. The protocol is used to secure HTTPS connections. TLS builds on the now-deprecated SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)

Wildcard

A wildcard is a symbol used to replace or represent one or more characters. The most common wildcards are the asterisk (*), which represents one or more characters, and the question mark (?), which represents a single character.
