Introduction

The module Setup Specs is a web-based application for managing product-related production and process specifications required within the manufacturing process chain – also known as recipe management.

Specifications define how to manufacture or handle a particular product by representing different types of information. These specifications fulfill the requirements in the individual work steps of employees, production/assembly machines, or third-party applications.

Production specifications contain parameters required to set up a production system, such as axis positions, clamping forces, assembly/tool types or additional descriptions in text form. Process specifications are generally those process parameters explicitly describe a process or process sequence. Process parameters can be simple one-dimensional parameters, multidimensional process curves or parameter structures from individual value pairs of different formats. Process parameters are repeatable parameters.

Main features

Administration

  • Maintain Product Hierarchy (Area, Family, Product, Product-Variant)

Maintain Setup Parameters for Process Experts

  • Maintain parameters for location specific sets, application specific sets and processes

  • Linkage of existing parameters to multiple products

  • Support of simple parameters and arrays

  • Support of validation of parameters

  • Logging of versions/history

  • Comparison of versions

  • Manage type groups, dataset structures, structure elements and parameters

  • Query of datasets

  • Manage imports

  • Merge datasets and resolve conflicts before releases

Maintenance of Releases for Planners

  • Maintain variants for products

  • Add datasets and lines to variants

  • Approval and release of variants and lines

  • Maintain release status for variants

  • Maintain release status for lines

  • Create tickets to assign change activities to solution groups

Import / Export

  • Export of variants, datasets and setup parameters in JSON and DAT format

  • Import of setup parameters

  • Managing scopes for database connections and configuration elements

Migration

  • Migration of Setup Control to Setup Specs

Roles and permissions

All modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System work with permissions. Depending on the permissions, different functions are available in modules.
To enable functions, assign the necessary role needs to the user based on the desired permission. Navigate to the Multitenant Access Control module to handle the permissions.

The standard configuration of the module includes the following roles:

Authorization Guest Executing User and Release Manager Dataset Editor Configurator Configurator of Type Groups Administrator for Setup Specs

Display and export all elements

Add and delete datasets and lines for a variant

Change the release status of variants and lines

Manage datasets in the product and editor tab

Manage dataset structures in the configurator tab

Import data

Perform all dataset configurations

Perform all type group configurations

Add and delete scopes

Creating tickets from Editor

Creating tickets from Query

Configure production areas, production families, products and variants
