Introduction to the Order Management module
The Order Management module is used to create and manage production orders for lines. Orders are processed sequentially after planning and release. Lines and their associated stations report progress via machine messages. Once the order quantity is reached, the line automatically switches to the next order, which can trigger automatic station changeover.
The interface to the line is the DirectDataLink service. Orders can be checked, customized, and prioritized. The user interface visualizes the production plan and order progress, and allows changes such as creating orders, moving them, or adjusting quantities.
Lines are first imported from the Nexeed Master Data Management module and must be configured to match real conditions. Once configured, orders can be created and released for production. Stations can then query the next order to be produced.
The Order Management module supports the Smart Replenishment Service (SrS), which predicts material consumption based on planned orders. The Order Management module requests the material available on the line from the ERP system, performs material calculations and orders missing material. A prerequisite for the use of SrS is the connection to the Material Management, Product Setup Management and ERP Connectivity modules.

Desktop client
In addition to the browser-based Order Management application, a Desktop Client for Order Management is available, as well as the PSA Transfer Client, a desktop client specifically for the PSA transfer use case.
Unless otherwise specified, references to the desktop client in this documentation refer to all three desktop applications of the Order Management module.
Roles and permissions
All modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System are based on permissions. Depending on the permissions, different functions are available in a module.
To enable functions, the user is assigned a role based on the desired permission. Permissions are managed in the Multitenant Access Control module.
The standard configuration of the module includes the following roles:
-
User OrderManagement
-
PowerUser OrderManagement
-
Admin Order Management
