Introduction to the Device Portal
The Device Portal offers the possibility to manage all IoT devices of one or more plants via a web interface. The devices can therefore be accessed from any location.
Devices can be easily added to the portal, configured there, and updated as needed.
The Device Portal includes the following functions:
Device inventory

Overview of the type and number of all devices

Version overview for all devices

Displays the device-specific network ID

Displays the device installation point
Monitor devices

Displays the device firmware version

Displays the device charging status

Displays the device error status
Manage devices

Update selected devices with new firmware

Install software on a specific selection of devices

Install software updates
Remote access

Access the devices via a user interface over a secure connection
Backup & restore

Before a firmware rollout, create device backups

Re-set devices to an older version, for example, if an error has occurred

Clone a test device configuration to transfer it to other devices
Roles and permissions
All modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System are based on permissions. Depending on the permissions, different functions are available in a module.
To enable functions, the user is assigned a role based on the desired permission. Permissions are managed in the Multitenant Access Control module.
The standard configuration of the module includes the following roles:
